vibrant orchestral music

ECHO's spring is all about Homegrown talent - the composers and sounds of our American musical heritage as well as our talented Houston area youth! As the orchestra prepares for its spring performance, ECHO is delighted to announce two young artist competitions in conjunction with our spring program. We are hosting our annual concerto competition for a talented soloist to perform with the whole orchestra. We also are accepting submissions for our composer competition. The winning composition will be performed by the whole orchestra.

Later in the year, ECHO will hold the very popular Summer Strings Camp! Open to middle school students who want to have fun and play some great orchestral music, the camp will run from June 22-26, 2026 at Lanier Middle School. The camp is open to violins, violas, cellos, and upright basses. It always fills up, so sign up your middle school-er for some summer fun soon!

And don't forget to get tickets to the Homegrown performance on May 15th at St. John Vianney! Tickets are $35 and you'll get to hear new compositions, a soaring soloist, and some favorites from the American music canon.

We can't wait to see you!
